2012

Castello® is proud to announce the addition of two more awards to our esteemed collection! Castello® Traditional Blue Cheese won first place at the 85th British Empire Cheese Competition and won second place in the Variety Cheese competition at the 2012 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, both in the Blue Veined Cheese categories.

2011

Our Castello® Traditional Blue Cheese was named the World's Best Danish Blue Cheese in 2011.

Each year one producer gets the award for crafting the Danish Blue Cheese with the highest quality and consistency. It's a tremendous honour and reinforces why Castello® is in demand from cheese lovers around the globe.

2008

Award-Winning Blue Cheeses!

At Arla Foods, we’re always proud of the quality and flavour of our ® Blue Cheese and Castello® Gorgonzola.

We’re even prouder when that quality is recognized in prestigious cheese competitions. In 2008, the pair of Blue Cheeses scored a 1-2 punch at two major competitions. At the 81st British Empire Cheese Competition Castello® Gorgonzola took 1st place in the Blue Veined category, followed closely by Rosenborg® Blue Cheese. At Canada’s Royal Winter Fair the Blue Veined Category was swept by our products, with Rosenborg® Blue Cheese taking 1st, and Castello® Gorgonzola 2nd.

2005

American Culinary Institute Gold Medal “Best Taste” Award. The results are in and the nation’s best tasting Imported blue cheese is Rosenborg-Castello®, according to a blind taste test conducted by American Culinary ChefsBest™ (ACC). Rosenborg-Castello®received the prestigious 2005 ChefsBest™ Award from ACC, beating out major national competitors in its respective category. Rosenborg-Castello® has been honoured as the best tasting by ACC for the past five consecutive years.
