1. Types of Personal Information Collected
The only personal information that we will collect is the personal information that you provide to us when you register with us or when you communicate with us through the Website as described below. We will at any time, at your request, provide you with a copy of any personal information that we are holding about you.
a) Our website does not store or capture personal information automatically, except that it does log the user’s Internet Protocol address which is automatically recognised by the Web server which then delivers web pages to your computer (“User IP Information”). If you are connected to the Internet you will have an Internet Protocol address which may look something like this: 188.8.131.52. Your IP address does not contain any personally identifiable information about you.
b) This Website employs cookies for collecting technical information for statistical purposes of a non-personal nature, from which you cannot be identified and which is required for system administration. “Cookies” enable the user to more easily communicate and interact with the Website. Cookies are small data files that are sent to your browser and then are placed on an individual user’s computer hard drive by a web server. They can be used, for example, to identify a user's computer in order to register visit patterns on the Website. If you do not want to accept cookies, you will often be able to prevent them from operating by changing your Internet browser settings. The “help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will provide you with further information in this respect.
c) The Website may collect user information which does not allow identification of you, such as buying preferences or age; this information is also known as demographic or profile data ("User Anonymous Information"). User Anonymous Information is generally provided to us by users on an optional basis.
d) The Website may collect user information which personally identifies you, such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address ("Personal Information"). The collection of Personal Information may be through various means, such as submissions, contests and communications to the Website, orders placed by you for goods or services available from the Website, and postings to bulletin or chat areas, if any. We may aggregate or anonymize Personal Information (by removing information which could identify an individual user) in order to create User Anonymous Information.
2. Purposes for which information may be used
The reason for the collection of information on the Website and uses which are made of the information which is collected depends on the nature of the information.
a) User IP Information is used to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of this Website, and to help us make this Website more useful to users. For example, we collect your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Site. Your IP address is also used to help identify you during a particular session and to gather broad demographic data.
c) We may use User IP Information, Cookie information or User Anonymous Information collected on and through this Website to improve our Website, to personalize your experience on the Website and to send you information about products and services from the Arla Foods Group or that you might request. We may share this non-personally identifiable information with others for marketing purposes. This information may also be used for statistical purposes or to evaluate what portions of the Website are more popular than others, determine where visitors came from, and where they go, and how long visitors stay on a particular page, or on the Website in general.
e) In certain limited circumstances, we may be required or permitted by law to disclose your Personal Information, such as to the police in the course of a criminal investigation.
Except as stated in section 2 above, we will not disclose any of your personal information to any third party, other than members of the Arla Foods Group, without your consent, which shall be deemed to be given in the circumstances set out below.
Personal Information collected on the Website belongs to Arla Foods and may be transferred to a purchaser of all or some of Arla Foods assets or business.
In order to make the Website more enjoyable for visitors, Arla Foods constantly strives to learn how users use the Website. As a result, Personal Information may be transferred to one or more third parties, such as a data processor, fulfillment agency, or advertising agency, for processing relating to these purposes.
